Roger is a mid-western Iowa native and a U.S. Navy veteran. He served six years on active duty as an Electronic Technician 1st Class Petty Officer onboard the U.S.S. Puffer SSN 652 stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI.  Following his discharge from the service he went on to work as a defense contractor for nine years in Hawaii, London and Alameda, CA.

 

During the mid- to late-90’s he worked for two Silicon Valley startup companies in various technical support management roles. He helped transition both of them from private to public through IPO.  At the same time he became licensed as a real estate salesperson in 1995 and two years later as a broker, launching his real estate career.

 

Jumping in with both feet, he launched a boutique real estate/mortgage brokerage firm in Campbell, CA.  During the “great recession” his office pivoted to helping those in need due to financial hardship and closed numerous short sale transactions and loan modifications for their clients.  After 13 years of running a successful business he opted to step back into a sales role as a broker-associate at Christie's International Real Estate - Sereno.

 

He then became interested in the trending disruption of real estate by spending nearly six years at two “prop-tech” companies, serving as their designated officer/broker.  One of these was Power Buyer “Reali” where he met Virginia Trowbridge and Joe Knipp prior to their launch of GI Joe Homes.
